The Sakai Takayuki 45 Layer Mirrored Damascus is made from a core steel of AUS-10 stainless rated at 59hrc. Is is cladded with a 45 layer damascus that is mirror polished then etched to give a very bright and foggy contrast between the steels. A touch lighter than most western handled knives, they feel very nimble in hand with a balance point right at the bolster. Very thin behind the edge making for a great knife for detail work.
